Grant MacEwan United World College Scholarships
Sponsored by: The United World Colleges were created to promote international understanding through education, service and social responsibility. These scholarship were named in honour of the late Dr. J.W. Grant MacEwan and administered by the Alberta Scholarship Programs. Click here for more information on the United World Colleges. Purpose: To reward Alberta's best Grade 11 students with a chance to complete their high school at one of the twelve United World Colleges located throughout the world. Value: Tuition, room and board, and one return trip home per year. The scholarship covers both years of the program. Eligibility: Applicants must be Alberta residents and be between the ages of 16 and 17 and a half. Applicants are normally in the process of completing their Grade 11. Selection: Recipients are selected by a selection committee. The scholarship is based on a student's academic record, breadth of study, personal accomplishments, community involvement, and interest in the goals of the United World Colleges.
